Job Summary: Ensure compliance, maintenance, and continual improvement to the ISO/TS16949 Quality Management System.
Required Education and Experience:
- Post Secondary Education in the following:
- Quality management
- Engineering
- Health and Safety
- Human Resources
- 3 - 4 years' experience overseeing ISO 9001/IATF 169419 Quality Management System
- Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of plant personnel with ease
- Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail
- Ability to work to meet deadlines and multiple demands
- Ability to train team members at all levels of the organization
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Quality System experience (IATF16949 or ISO 9001)
- Core Tools experience ( FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, SPC, MSA)
- Ability to work independently and knowledge of best practices
Essential Functions:
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Implementing the QMS in support of the company business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, and business development
- Creating, auditing/evaluating, revising, reporting, and maintenance of the division ISO 9001/IATF16949; Martinrea Protocols management system, including the procedures, policies and forms
- Monitoring the KPIs of the division and report to the management team
- Performing and managing the QMS/MMS audit with in-house internal quality auditors to very that all activities are performed against the established or documented standard procedures
- Monitoring all identified non-compliances in the QMS and evaluating effectiveness of the preventative and corrective actions
- Maintaining relationships with outside organizations and auditors to ensure our compliance and ability to take care of our customers
- Coordinates with all levels of the organization in developing ISO 9001/IATF 16949 compliant processes and documentation, champions the document control system
- Co-ordinates the training of internal auditors, ensures ISO 9001/IATF 16949 internal audits are scheduled, executed and closed with all related corrective actions, reports on the status of internal audits to management
- Navigates designated web pages, for customers & Martinrea, to ensure customer specific requirements are understood and incorporated in the systems used at Martinrea Industrial Canada; conducts training as necessary
- Provide training to employees(current & new hires) on quality management systems, standards, and procedures
- Manages and leads corrective action events pertaining to internal and external issues up to and including verification, implementation and closure
- Coordinates external audits, auditors and accompany external audits through the process
- Maintenance of Quality Management System
- Participates in plant wide continuous improvement projects
- Work on Advanced Product Quality Planning as required to support product launches
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify opportunities for process improvement
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
Layer Process Audits/ Process Walks
- Implement/ monitor and schedule Layer Process Audits
- Create, evaluate, revise, report, and maintain the audit results, procedures and forms
- Monitoring the KPIs of the LPA /Process walks and report to the management team
Document Control
- Document control Administrator
- Create, evaluate, revise, report, and maintain the QMS documentation (procedures and forms)
Supplier Monitoring & Development
- Evaluate and monitor the performance of suppliers to ensure they meet quality requirements
- Initiate and manage Supplier Corrective Action Requests when quality issues are identified.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and drive improvements in the supply chain, travel to supplier/customer when required
- Plan and execute regular supplier audits to assess their adherence to quality standards, production processes, and product specifications
- Represent the needs of the company to the supplier by addressing quality system requirements.
- To notify internal and external suppliers of potential problems and make recommendations for resolutions
- Responsible for organizing containment of non-conforming supplied product.
- Responsible for trouble shooting root cause analysis, SPC data analysis, implementation and maintain up to date documentations related to APQP documentation
- Participate in Team Oriented Problem Solving (corrective and preventive actions)
- Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
- Participate and approve PPAP submissions as required
Work Environment:
- 60% office, 40% plant floor (PPE required)
- Travel required: Able to travel to other Martinrea facilities, Suppliers, Customers local and in the US/Mexico/Canada
Decision Making and Authority:
- Oversee the following position on a functional level (follow up and determine compliance):
- Authority of decisions:
- Changes as related to the QMS/EMS Standards
- Changes as related to Layer Process Audit Procedures / forms
- Recommendations:
- Procedural changes (to champion)
- Action items from inspection or audits
- Quantitative Measurements:
- KPI's, internal and external audit number of CAR's
- KPI's for LPA/ Process Walk audits
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
- Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or less
Health and Safety:
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
