Summary

Are you an experienced Purchasing professional looking for a new challenge? We are looking to add a Purchasing Admin to our team on a 12 month term contract. Based out of our Grande Prairie regional office, this position is responsible for the timely and accurate processing and entry of purchase orders, while providing administrative support to the Purchasing department.

Key Responsibilities

• Match invoices with purchase orders and verify that they are assigned the proper coding and approvals.
• Sort all entered purchase invoices by month of invoice date, and sort numerically by invoice number for each vendor before filing.
• Review bills and invoices for potential errors and/or discrepancies.
• Maintain proper backup files for reference.
• Regularly track invoices for payment and communicate with the Accounts Payable team on any invoice payment requirements.
• Allocate and properly code the purchasing orders in the filling systems.
• Track inventory and purchase quantity, logging information into the JD Edward enterprise management system.
• Review inventories and orders as required.
• Track and report upon statistical data.
• Receive Purchase Order requisition forms and create Purchase Orders.
• Produce and provide various reports to Management and the Accounting Department.
• Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
• Must examine situations considering the principles of the Code of Ethics.
• Other Purchasing and Administration duties as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum, High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Post-secondary graduate, with a concentration in Business Administration, or related program, from a recognized institution, or equivalent job-related experience is required.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in as an Administrator, or similar role, preferable within a Purchasing Department.
• Background in Accounts Payable or Purchasing preferred.
• Basic experience with JD Edwards enterprise management system
• Fundamental understanding of mathematics and accounting.
• Knowledge of General Ledger, Job Costing, Accounts Payable and Purchasing.
• Intermediate knowledge of computers and computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Basic knowledge of office equipment, such as fax machine, computer, photocopier, or other related office equipment.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in an indoor setting and may include a combination of standing, sitting and walking. Sitting for extended periods of time is required.
• Work involves a high degree of concentration, accuracy, problem solving, communication and working under time constraints.
• Short periods of travel may occur on rare occasions.
• Overtime as required.
