What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Management, you will be accountable for actively maintaining day-to-day operations within OTIP's data architecture, with a goal of ensuring that data being loaded to warehouse is timely, accurate, and complete.
The Senior Data Engineer is also responsible for proactive monitoring of the overall data ecosystem performance, identifying issues, and resolving them promptly to enhance the efficiency of the ETL pipeline. Additionally, the Senior Data Operations Engineer is responsible for with coaching and mentoring junior staff and team members.
The core parts of your role will be to:
Collaborate with data engineers related to optimizing application logic and functionality in the platform portfolio
Determine risk of various configurations and options for database administration and can communicate issues to development architects and team
Assist Data Operations Solution Architect and source system solutions owners to define requirements for data access and ingestion into the platform portfolio
Support the delivery of data architecture and solutions for critical platform portfolio projects in collaboration with business and IT stakeholders
Design database maintenance, upgrade and replication processes and provide incident and problem management support
Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues and any distributed data issues
Determine root cause for data quality errors and make recommendations for long-term solutions
Support compliance with data stewardship standards and data security procedures
Let’s Talk About You:
This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:
A bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering or similar discipline; supported by experience in a similar technical environment
5+ years of experience supporting organization data operations on cloud
Demonstrate proficient understanding of Azure platforms, including a thorough understanding of Azure Data Factory
Hands on experience in managing data on Azure Data Factory
Strong knowledge of Data governance, data reporting etc.
Demonstrate understanding of Collibra, Profisee, and Redgate
Highly analytical individual with advanced problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Scrum/Agile delivery methodologies is an asset
