They seek a permanent, full-time Boring Mill Operator in Burlington, ON.

Compensation

A competitive compensation package is on offer, consisting of $36.46/hour plus excellent, comprehensive benefits.

The Opportunity

This is day shift, permanent/full-time, union position.

Position Description

The Boring Mill Operator is responsible for preparing and adjusting machining equipment and operations for CNC devices such as boring, milling, turning, and drilling, in addition to utilizing other standard machine shop tools with minimal oversight. This is day shift, permanent/full-time, union position.

• Prepare and adjust machining tools and operations for CNC devices like boring, milling, turning, and drilling, alongside other standard machine shop tools with minimal guidance.
• Sharpen tools, interpret blueprints, manually input data for programming, and modify CNC programs
• Conduct inspections of machined products and features using the appropriate inspection, measurement, and testing equipment
• Implement continuous enhancements in machine operations, including tooling life, and adjustments in surface speeds and feeds
• Perform cleaning and deburring post-operation
• Maintain precise tolerances and surface finish specifications

Experience

5 years of machining experience with CNC Horizontal Boring Mills, CNC Lathe, CNC Mills.

Qualifications

• Machinist ticket required
• Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Strong math skills, especially as it pertain to measurements (ie: fractions and decimals)

Education

• Machinist ticket
• Recognized machinist apprenticeship completed
• High school diploma or equivalent
