PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under the supervision of the Director of the Regional Offices Branch, will coordinate strike mobilization activities, strike activities, communications and provide technical coordination of all national strike action and support for all regional strikes via the NSCC and the RSCC
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge
- Understanding and commitment to union and equity principles.

- Good judgment and diplomacy.
- Well developed time management skills to deal effectively with conflicting priorities and time sensitive issues while remaining focused in the face of multiple distractions.
- Political acuity and respect for workers.
- Well developed communication and negotiating skills.
- Proficiency in the use of a computer, including the ability to use Windows, FrontPage, ONSTRIKE software, Microsoft Access, Excel, Simply Accounting, Groupwise and the Internet.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills;
- High degree of initiative and good judgment.
- Strong problem solving abilities.
- Knowledge of trade union’s role, objectives, and activities as well as an understanding of and commitment to union principles.
- Excellent knowledge of PSAC strike procedures.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Extensive knowledge of the organization, function, and objectives as well as policies and Constitution and Regulations of the Public Service Alliance of Canada.
- Knowledge of where to go within the organization for needed information and ability to judge what information should be passed on to various staff.
- Skill in organizing material, information, people in a systematic way to optimize efficiency and minimize duplication of effort.
- Knowledge of basic financial accounting procedures.
- Excellent listening skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Must be committed to teamwork.

- Second language skills as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) level indicated above.
