Opportunity Details

We are recruiting on behalf of a market-leading company located in the North GTA, this is a hybrid in office (3 days)/WFH role, location is easily accessible from major highways They are currently seeking a progressive, Big 4 qualified Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with leadership experience and a strong understanding of IFRS accounting standards.

Key responsibilities and oversight:

• Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated external financial statements, MD&A and other related disclosures ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards
• Lead a team of professional staff providing guidance, coaching and mentorship to team members
• Ensure accurate and timely execution of all monthly internal reporting
• Evaluate complex accounting issues ensuring effective application of relevant accounting standards
• Plan, co-ordinate and execute the annual audit process including developing an effective partnership with external auditors
• Support M&A activity and ensure effective integration post-acquisition
• Develop productive relationships with operational groups and offer support their initiatives
• Strive for consistent process improvement through more efficient use of software/systems and development of processes and controls

The company is offering a competitive compensation package for this level including an attractive base salary and annual bonus program. Full remuneration details will be disclosed to all candidates under consideration.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or industry
• 2+ years experience leading a team and directly supervising/coaching/mentoring others
• Strong experience with IFRS including proficiency effectively actioning complex accounting issues
• Track record of partnerships with cross functional groups
• High proficiency and use of technology to support key findings
• Excellent communication and written skills
