Job Description
Serving Surrey for over 15 years with great tasting pizza and curry dishes at the best prices in town! Give us a call now we are ready to serve you quality pizza and Indian food every time. We are currently hiring three cooks to start immediately.
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook complete menu items, individual dishes and special meals
- Run food from the kitchen to the counter on demand
- Set up and stock kitchen stations with necessary supplies, to prepare food for service (chopping vegetables, making sauces, butchering meat etc.)
- Operates various kitchen appliance such as a blenders, ovens, grills, fryers etc.
- Handling multiple food orders at one time. Monitoring multiple food orders as new orders arrive
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Follow and execute chef direction for preparing individual dishes
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation/hygiene regulations
- Clean up station and store leftover food
- Manage and train staff such as food servers, dishwashers and kitchen helpers
- Prepare plate presentation procedures
- Determine size of food portions
- Track and report food waste issues
- Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
- Sanitizing and cleaning work stations and utensils
Job Requirements
- Completion of secondary school is required.
- 1-2 years of commercial cooking experience or Completion of a 3 year apprenticeship program for cooks or Completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety with 06 months or more on the job training is required.
- Basic English is requirement too.
- Ability to work in kitchen for extended hours.
Benefits
As per mutual agreement and BC Employment standards act, 4% vacation pay of the gross salary will be paid each pay period with 10 days of unpaid vacation annually or the option to choose 10 days of paid vacation annually with no vacation pay on each pay period. Free meals on work during the work hours.
