Job description

Our dynamic client is a pioneer in the Canadian Steel Industry with extensive experience managing Laser Processing operations. The client is looking to hire a CNC CAD/CAM Programmer for their George Town location.

Shift - Straight Days
Salary - Flexible as per experience and qualification.

Responsibilities
We are looking for an individual who has experience with CAD/CAM nesting programs for our metal fabrication shop. Experience with metal laser application software would be an asset.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
•Read & interpret CAD drawings & possess CAD knowledge.
•Utilize software packages such as ProNest, OmniBevel, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and custom ERP software to generate drawings, NC code, and support CNC machines and operators.
•Collaborate effectively within a team environment, following instructions to ensure project success.

•Create 2D AutoCAD and 3D SolidWorks designs and drawings layouts.
•Generate electronic files for profiled parts or customer samples when necessary.
•Produce engineering drawings for sales order production.
•Assign CNC code and material for nested patterns.
•Optimize material utilization and minimize machine setup time by sorting shop orders into groups.

Qualifications
•1-2 years of experience in CAD/CAM programming.
•Proficiency in ProNest, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.
•Experience with OmniBevel software is an advantage.
•Previous experience in a Steel Manufacturing environment is preferred.
•Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.
•Strong communication skills and attention to quality assurance are essential.
