Summary:  

Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated new graduate Civil Engineer EIT to join the Infrastructure Group in our Highways & Bridges team in Thunder Bay, ON. 

Reporting to the Senior Project Engineer of Highways and Bridges in Municipal Infrastructure you will support offices globally working from our Thunder Bay office.  

As the successful candidate, you will: 

-Work with Project Managers to accomplish various tasks associated with various projects (as part of Hatch’s mentorship philosophy)
-Be part of a team involved in delivering regional/municipal and highway design and inspection projects of various scale, size and complexities. 
-Be given opportunities to contribute to complex projects in meaningful ways 
-Work on problems and gain experience in the office and on project sites  
-Collaborate with diverse teams locally and globally 
-Work in an exciting environment where you can apply your academic learning on a daily basis 
-Benefit from informal mentorship from some of the leading minds and authorities in the industry

Education and Experience:

-Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering to graduate in 2024 or recently graduated from an accredited University; 
-In good academic standing; 
-Extracurricular involvement is considered an asset; 
-Past work experience in the Civil Engineering field is an asset; 

 

Competencies (knowledge, skill, attributes): 

-Good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects  
-Knowledge of road design standards (TAC, MTO) is considered an asset
-Strong Microsoft Office Software Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) skills
-Ability to learn quickly and to take on new challenges  
-Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills 
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail  
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Shows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges 
-Highly motivated, with a positive attitude and an ability to understand innovation
-Adapts and embraces change
