Job Summary:
The Logistic Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the movement of products, supplies and equipment for the Iqbal Halal Foods grocery store to ensure timely shipments.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee operational logistics of supply-chain work units including fresh produce, seafood and meats, deli and household item grocery departments within Iqbal Halal Foods;
- Consult with the receiving supervisors to schedule transportation runs in a cost and time-efficient manner, ensuring adherence to Iqbal Halal Food’s policies plus standards;
- Communicate regularly with other logistic coordinators, warehouse staff, receiving supervisors, retail buyers and inventory clerks to coordinate activities between warehouses, Iqbal Halal Food’s floors, and other supply chain work units or departments.
- Maintain inventory of Iqbal Halal Food’s supplies, equipment and grocery products needed to maintain its operations of providing goods and services to customers, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards;
- Prepare and maintain various reports on the progress of work, materials used, rates of transportation, and other transportation related information, utilizing manual or computerized systems tailored to Iqbal Halal Food’s grocery operations;
- Coordinate and monitor logistics of the movement of Iqbal Halal Food’s products, supplies, equipment and materials through transportation, ensuring timely shipping and receipt of products;
- Prepare and process all customs documents for international and U.S. shipments, ensuring compliance with Iqbal Halal Food’s product, supply and equipment requirements in addition to relevant regulations; and
- Other duties as required.
Minimum skills requirements
- Completion of secondary school;
- Completion of a post-secondary education program of less than two years in Business or Supply Chain Management, OR two (2) years work experience as a dispatcher, production clerk or scheduling clerk is required;
- Good working knowledge and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required; and
- Must be responsible, organized, a team player and have good time management skills.
