JOB DESCRIPTION

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes or foods as per company menu(s)
Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs
Oversee and manage kitchen operations
Supervise and schedule kitchen staff and helpers
Maintain inventory and records of food and other supplies
Make sure kitchen and work area is clean and sanitised at all the times as per company policy
Assist in training of the new staff
Perform other duties as requested by the management team

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Read instructions about operating appliances and equipment
Interpret Occupational Health & Safety hazard symbols
Check off items and quantities on delivery checklists

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High school completion preferred

EXPERIENCE
1-2 years of experience working in a kitchen environment as a cook
OR
Completion of college or other program in cooking

LANGUAGE
English

OTHER
Candidate should be willing to work in both morning & evening shifts.
Sometimes overtime may be required on some busy days/weekends
Candidate should be legally entitled to work in Canada
