Job description

The Component Mechanic's role involves disassembling, assembling, inspecting, and testing aeronautical components and accessories, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, fuel, oil, and pneumatic parts. They ensure these components meet safety and performance standards, maintaining records for compliance and safety in the aerospace industry.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

Typical tasks and obligations in this role involve executing work plans by adhering to instructions from a range of sources. It entails the use of testing and measurement equipment to perform assigned tasks while also identifying and promptly reporting any defects observed in parts, assemblies, engines, or accessories. The responsibility extends to certifying the accuracy of completed work and conducting preliminary inspections. Additionally, it encompasses the initiation of repair documents and the procurement of necessary parts and materials.

Qualifications
Candidates must meet specific qualifications to be considered for this position, including having a recognized apprenticeship adhering to Transport Canada standards or a foreign aircraft mechanic/technician license for international applicants. A minimum of four years of experience in engine or component maintenance, knowledge of specified engine types (to be discussed), familiarity with avionics/electrical harnesses and balancing, and a solid understanding of standard inspection and repair processes are required. Proficiency in computer software (Word, Excel, Access, PDF formatting) and intermediate knowledge of SAP is expected. Candidates should also have the ability to provide technical guidance, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the flexibility to work both independently and as part of a team. Meeting these qualifications ensures suitability for roles in engine maintenance and repair within the company.
