Product Owner – Technology (must be local to Nova Scotia)
Our client a leader in creating workforce solutions for the education space is currently searching for a Product Owner – Technology to join their team in Nova-Scotia.
Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the vision for the company's internal technology products, ensuring they align with business goals and user needs.
- Manage a team of software developers and technical support team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Collaborate closely with a Technical Project Manager to plan and execute development projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
- Act as a key liaison between technical teams and other departments within the company, translating business needs into technical requirements.
- Oversee the product backlog, prioritizing features and tasks based on strategic goals and user feedback.
- Ensure the technical integrity and quality of the product through regular reviews, testing, and continuous improvement practices.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform product development and innovation.
- Develop and implement technical product roadmaps, timelines, and development milestones.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration within the team and across departments to promote a seamless workflow.
- Monitor and report on the progress of development projects, addressing any issues or challenges that arise.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical product management or similar role within a technology-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of software development methodologies and lifecycle.
- Proven experience managing technical teams, including developers and support staff.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with the latest technologies and trends in software development.
