This Opportunity:

We are currently looking to fill (2) Part Time Personal Care Attendant role known internally as Support Service Attendant in our Supportive Housing Attendant Services Program in Vaughan, Central Region.

Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, variable hours per week. Day shifts are 7am-3pm, evening shifts are 3pm-11pm, overnight shifts are awake 11pm-7am. Note, weekend availability and ability to work alternating weekends is required.

Starting wage is $21.95, inclusive of the $3.00 per hour wage enhancement from the Ontario government for hours spent directly supporting clients. The wage enhancement does not apply to training, travel, and paid leave.

Roles and responsibilities:

- Personal care

- Lifts and Transfers

- Rising/retiring

- Bowel and bladder procedures

- Meal preparation and feeding

- Range of motion exercises

- Other light housekeeping duties

March of Dimes Canada provides 24-hour attendant care to its clients. Support Services Attendants work a variety of shifts (i.e., weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays) that vary between locations.

Qualifications and experience:

· High School graduate or equivalent

· Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain

· Experience working with individuals with physical disabilities, older adults, or as an informal caregiver considered an asset but not required

· Good interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

· Physical Demands Self Analysis Required upon hire

· Ability to work flexible and regularly scheduled hours
