Job Overview
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, as the Accountant you will be responsible for all accounting activities for their assigned companies. You provide accounting services and expertise that contribute to the success of the land development projects in an accurate and timely manner.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Collaborating with the operations team to prepare, analyze, and assess project budgets.
- Calculating and recording cost allocations and recoveries on land development projects.
- Preparing and submitting monthly mortgage draw requests and completing a variety of regular reports and analysis summarizing status and trends for internal stakeholders.
- Assisting in year-end reviews Including cost of sale adjustments.
- Assisting in the implementation of new accounting and project-related software.
- Providing support to other accounting related activities as required.

Essential Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 1 year of accounting related experience.
- Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint) and accounting software (NewStar).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in the homebuilding or construction industry in an accounting role is nice to have.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) or working towards is an asset.

Work Conditions
You primarily work in an office setting during regular business hours. Overtime may occasionally be required.
