Job description

Consistently awarded “Best Seafood Restaurant” in Vancouver and recognized for its unparalleled service, an evening at Blue Water Cafe is truly an unforgettable experience. Blue Water Cafe is a high volume fine dining restaurant, serving around 320 guests nightly. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Other duties may be assigned as required)

Assist with the day-to-day operations of the kitchen
Serve as an educator to the restaurant’s pastry team
Maintain exceptional cleanliness and maintain equipment to optimal specifications
Design creative and elevated pastries, desserts, and breads
Passionate about and possess great background knowledge of bread making, as well as classic baking techniques and procedures
Lead by example, inspiring staff to deliver a memorable food experience
Maximize resources and inventories by managing cost and monitoring inventory and budget to ensure the best use of inventory and allocation of expenses

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 2 years of experience
A degree in the Culinary Arts or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
An energetic and motivated team player; highly committed to a premium level of quality
Solid organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at one time
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
