Job description

This is a contract position for a Senior Database Administrator for our public sector client.
Work location: 595 Bay Street, Toronto
Duration: 12 months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
• Administer the database management systems (Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft Access) including database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, backup, and recovery.
• Develop, support, and maintain system data extracts, and reports using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access.
• Support and maintain over 80 system interfaces and scheduled jobs.
• Advice and support to long term care /homes for special care rate reduction renewals (semi-annual or as required processes for long term care and special care) and annual changes from CRA for information related to income tax returns.


Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience with:
• Oracle RDBMS 11-12 in a Windows environment and SQL Server RDBMS 2008-2019
• Database installation, upgrade, monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery. Expertise required with standard database development tools and utilities: TOAD, SQL Server Management Studio, TFS
• SQL Server Integration Services and SQL Server Reporting Services
