Cambridge Materials Testing (CMTL), a division of Acuren, is currently recruiting for an Engineering Technologist to work in the Mechanical Testing Department to support our services in our laboratory. This position will be full time and based out of our facility in Cambridge, ON. • Follow ASTM, ASME, SAE, CWB, ISO and other specifications for testing

• Follow company quality standards and procedures

• Conduct verifications and calibrations on equipment and parts as needed

• Operating equipment and conducting mechanical testing on metallic and non-metallic parts for customers
• Testing will include but is not limited to: tensile testing, charpy impact testing, bend testing, drop weight testing, hardness testing, abrasion testing, physical property testing and other custom testing.
• Maintain equipment and safety/maintenance checklists as directed by Mechanical Department Supervisor or Laboratory Manager

• Prepare test reports with necessary customer information, results and conclusions

• Collaborate with other testing departments on high volume and large scale projects

• Eningeering technology or technician diploma with 2 years related experience

• Previous experience using mechanical testing equipment is preferred

• Well organized, detail-oriented
• Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast paced setting
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Strong verbal communication and with ability to follow written directions
• Team player with willingness to learn and develop on the job

• Able to lift up to 23kg (50 lbs)Strong computer skills

• Fluent in written and spoken English
