Position Summary:
As a Customs Specialist Manager, you will be responsible to ensure shipments are released in a timely and accurate manner adhering to all governmental policy and regulations and confirming all entries are submitted within the prescribe time limits.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare and submit Accurate Data entries to CSA for release across all modes of transport – road/air/sea.
- Must have extensive experience in handling shipments involving OGDs, comply with OGD and SIMA.
- Check Documents received and follow-up with imports/freight forwarders and carriers in case of incorrect/incomplete paperwork.
- Track & Trace shipments for all modes of transport.
- Coordinator with CBSA and Freight Forwarders/SS lines to resolve issues to obtain shipment release.
- Assist Clients with on boarding on CARM Portal
- Identify the appropriate HS Classification and relevant OGD requirements.
- File RMD correction and B2 amendments, in case required.
- Research and respond to client queries with regards to import/export requirements
- Perform and validate any free trade agreement certificates reviews and provide feedback to clients.
- Assist Clients during CBSA Compliance Verification and post-audit requirements.
- Identify tax recovery opportunities (customs, duties, GST, drawbacks, excise tax etc.)
- Qualify goods under Free trade agreements.
- Present training seminars/webinars as required to internal/eternal customs.
- Identify potential clients for upselling or consulting services understanding the needs, challenges, and opportunities within your existing client base as well as targeting new clients, as they may benefit from additional services.
- Complete and post release functions to ensure transaction is confirmed within the prescribed time.
- Provide Delivery instructions as required.
- Liaise between clients, operational & sales staff.
- The role from time to time may also require additional hours to be put in after-hours when the need may arise during busy periods.

Education Requirement:
- Supply Chain Management or relevant education.
- Certified Customs specialist
Required Skills and Knowledge:
- 5 years experience working as Customs Compliance, Customs Specialist, Customs Consulting, all related area relevant to Customs.
- Strong communications skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Computer knowledge with Excel/Word/Micro Soft - Outlook/Cargo Wise
- Must have a strong attention to detail, accuracy is extremely important.
- Good analytical, organizational, communicational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proactive attitude in follow up with issues
- Good knowledge with HS/Cadex/Across/ACI/Pars and other current initiatives
