SUMMER STUDENTS
CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations around the world, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products and people to build walls, ceilings and careers.
CGC Inc. is currently hiring summer students for our Warehouse in Calgary, AB!
Basic Accountability:
Maintain/contribute to production levels, participate in a team environment and work in the safest, most efficient and profitable manner as possible. Training on essential tasks will be provided.
Position Descriptions:
· Students will understand and apply department safety regulations and requirements associated with the rail debagger & floor operator duties
· Activities will include removing plastic bags and removing / placing dunnage on units of board; operating plastic compactor, cleaning a rail car and securing cables after the car is unloaded
· Students will learn how to properly identify damaged inventory and safely climb rail car ladders to retrieve and discard cardboard
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
· Candidates who are graduating from high school and going to college or university in September will have to provide proof of their enrollment to the program of study from the college or university.
· Candidates returning to college or university in the fall will be required to show proof of enrollment.
· Ability to work days and afternoon shifts on a rotating basis and to work in other departments.
· Demonstrates problem-solving skills and the ability to work as a team.
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
· Must be a people and results-oriented individual who incorporates and emphasizes safety and quality in all aspects of the daily work
*Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
