We are currently seeking an individual to assume the demanding and rewarding position of Human Resources Officer, Recruitment and Benefits, with the Human Resources Division in the Administration Department.
Under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, the incumbent performs all aspects of recruitment and benefit administration for the organization. This includes providing support in the various human resources functions which include recruitment, labour relations, job evaluation and classification, compensation, benefits administration and employee counselling. This position provides back-up support to the payroll function and acts in the Chief Human Resources Officer's absence when required.
Applicants require a comprehensive knowledge of diverse human resources practices coupled with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to perform independently, utilizing sound judgment, is essential. The position requires a post-secondary diploma in human resources and/or benefit administration, a minimum of five years related experience, preferably in a unionized environment, and a professional designation such as CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) or equivalent.
The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive salary range of $106,067 - $132,584 and a comprehensive benefit package including a monthly housing and vacation travel allowance and a Defined Benefit Pension Plan.
