Our client is a successful and well-established condominium property management company that manages a large portfolio of residential units in the GTA. They are looking to hire an experienced Corporate Controller for permanent hire to join their growing team!
About the Role: The Corporate Controller will report directly to the Vice President of Finance & Administration. This employee will play an essential role within the organization by performing a variety of corporate accounting duties. This employee must establish strong working relationships with members of the Accounting, Administration and Operations teams, by building and maintaining trust with individuals across all levels of the organization.
The Corporate Controller Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Close Corporate books monthly which includes booking accruals for car allowance, equipment leases, rent, courier, legal, consultants, payroll, Yardi fees etc.
- Preparing all monthly Corporate Financial Statements, variance analysis including commentary for internal use and for monthly meetings with the Asset Management group.
- Prepar ing yearly working papers to the Asset Management / Tax group and for the external annual audit.
- Assisting with the latest Projections, Annual Budget and 5-year Strategic plan preparation including Cash Flow and Balance Sheet.
- Complete monthly Cash flow analysis and maintain a rolling annual cash flow file.
- Review accounting process and d eveloping and implementing reporting to improve the process.
- Maintain an accurate general ledger for the corporate books.
- Supervising and mentoring accounting team.
- Account Reconciliations completed monthly for Balance Sheet accounts (Bank, AR, Fixed Assets, AP & Accruals, Management fee’s).
- Review ing the vacation summary by employee to ensure accurate accruals are being booked monthly and vacation is being utilized.
- File quarterly HST return and payment , Review annual WSIB and EHT reconciliations.
Qualifications: - CPA Designation REQUIRED , with 5+ years experience in full cycle Real Estate accounting and experience in property management would be considered and asset.
- Attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and strong adherence to established deadlines.
- Organized and efficient with strong multi-task skills and the ability to work under pressure with changing priorities.
- Advanced skills in Yardi Voyager 7S required and advanced skills Microsoft Excel, Word
- Proactive and self-motivated individual who is goals and results driven.
- Ability to work effectively individually, with minimal direction, and as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
