In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority

( Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Manager or designate, utilizing a variety of computerized applications, the Administrative Clerk, supports the Integrated Health Network, Diabetes Education, Nutrition Services, and other Chronic Disease Programs by utilizing data base, spreadsheet, and query software tools. Determines appropriate format, sets up and enters data as required. Types a variety of technical and non-technical items such as correspondence, manuals, memos, and reports using word processing and presentation software. Provides the communication link between patients, doctors, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and a variety of community agencies, services and programs. Performs reception and clerical support duties such as answering the phone, scheduling appointments, maintain files and timekeeping functions for the Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Training And Experience

Grade 12, Medical Terminology, and 2 years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
