Job description
Our Client is dedicated to International Corporations, Institutions and Global Organizations, Insurers and Health Carriers. They provide worldwide Remote Medical & Security Services, Business Travel Risk Management and International TPA & Cost Containment Services.
Our Client in Thornhill, Ontario, is looking for a Claims Examiner experienced in the area of Travel Insurance claims processing. Responsibilities:
- Insurance claims processing including policy adjudication in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Resolving travel insurance claims by approving or denying documentation; calculating benefit due; initiating payment or composing denial letter.
- Establishing proof of loss by studying documentation; assembling additional information as required from outside sources, including claimant, physician, employer, hospital, and other insurance companies; initiating or conducting investigation of questionable claims.
- Performing large dollar claims review and examination according to protocol.
- Using approved tools and references for adjudication in order to determine proper coding of the claim in relation to diagnoses, procedures and usual and customary, where applicable.
- Challenging existing processes by providing innovative ideas for improvements and sharing suggestions with Team Lead/Manager.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years experience with billing or coding and/or Travel insurance claim processing .
- Strong computer skills required, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills with the ability to work independently but harmoniously within a team.
- Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in French is a definite asset.
- Post secondary education or related equivalent experience in the insurance or medical fields an asset.
- Knowledge of medical terminology an asset.
