Supplier Manager

Pickering

Hybrid – 2 days in the office

115K, 10% Bonus, 4 weeks vacation, Benefits

 

As the Supplier Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that the suppliers of parts and materials meet the quality, cost, and delivery standards of the company. You will be managing four direct reports. The Supplier Manager works with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement supplier development strategies, continuous improvement initiatives, and risk management plans. You will conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their capabilities, performance, and compliance with quality and environmental standards. The Manager will collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and production teams to define and communicate the technical and business requirements for suppliers. You will negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers and monitor their fulfillment. Manage supplier issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve them. You will Identify and pursue opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and value enhancement with suppliers.

 

This job requires a candidate with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and working for a large organization. You must have 8 to 10 years of experience in Supplier Management. The role involves managing a team, creating a high-performance work culture, and maintaining relationships with suppliers across North America (10% travel required). Having a technical background and experience working with suppliers in the mechanical industry would be beneficial. The ideal candidate should be creative, innovative, and have a focus on the big picture.
