Job description
Job Duties
1. Provide instruction in multiple areas including English Language Arts A30 (ELA A30), English Language Arts B30 (ELA B30), Health Science 20, Physical Science 20, Biology 30, Chemistry 30, Physics 30, Workplace & Apprenticeship Math 20 & 30, Pre-Calculus Math 20 & 30, Math Foundations 20 & 30, History 30, Native Studies 30 and Information Processing 30.
2. Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
3. Plan and deliver learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
4. Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
5. Maintain records of achievement, attendance and other student-related information and report such information as required.
6. Identify resources and equipment appropriate to support curriculum/course implementation.
7. Be reflective of and responsive to accommodation of special learning needs including equity groups and diverse learners.
8. Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies.
9. Respond to curriculum/course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs.
10. Assist students in areas of personal, academic and career development.
11. Engage students in learning activities designed to strengthen ties to work and/or career development.
12. Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in work experience.
13. Practice good interpersonal and communication skills.
14. Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
15. Work cooperatively in an interdependent team environment.
16. Follow regulations and policies adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)
1. Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
2. Valid Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate.
3. Through a combination of training and/or teaching experience, subject specialization in applicable subject.
4. Eligible for Saskatchewan accreditation in applicable subject.
5. Effective communication skills (written and oral).
6. Effective interpersonal skills.
7. Effective instructional ability.
8. Ability to work with individuals with special learning needs.
9. Demonstrates valuing diversity.
