The Packaging Administrator is responsible for supporting and achieving Farm Boy’s vision, and maximizing sales, profitability. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers, and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.
Major Responsibilities:
- Liaise with Business Support and other teams to address and resolve issues reported from Retail and Central Production with regards to products and suppliers.
- Support and implement new item development such as: private label or proprietary labels, packaging, sanitation, equipment, and substitution sourcing.
- Determine, authorize, and provide SKU accessibility, by location and department, to distribution partners.
- Coordinate and support the testing and suitability of new or replacement items prior to implementation with a focus on team member efficiency and cost.
- Perform updates and regular maintenance on various packaging related databases to ensure accuracy of listings and product information such as: item cost, location status management, material categorization, physical properties, etc.
- Maintain accurate current and historical data enabling effective decision making in regards to inventory control.
- General analysis and reporting on key metrics such as: purchases, substitutions, vendor fill rates and performance, program compliance, cost impact, quality control and tare auditing.
- Coordinate with internal teams and distribution partners on the life cycle of packaging and related items to minimize financial liability.
- Facilitate the coordination of off cycle supply orders to ensure business continuity.
- Actively contribute to the development and maintenance of department operational policies, procedures and process.
- Provide administrative and reporting support to sustainability projects and initiatives.

- Typically requires completion of a post-secondary education in Business Administration or related field with a minimum of 2 years of grocery retail experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Solid retail experience with a passion for food retailing and people.
- Sound knowledge of the retail industry and business practices.
- Superior standards of quality with excellent analytical skills.
- High level of confidentiality.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and interact with employees on all levels.
- Good judgement and decision-making abilities.
- Experience working with various computer software programs (i.e Microsoft Suite).
- Clear and effective communication style, both written and oral.
- Impeccable organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Skilled at working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining priorities and a high level of performance.
- Fluency in English and French shall be considered an asset.
