Placement Description: This position would be situated within FTB's Project & Advisory Services (PAS) team. The PAS team acts as an internal consulting firm within the provincial government, providing trusted advice to senior leaders across all GNB departments – both political and administrative. The Junior Analyst would report to a Senior Advisor, who would provide coaching and mentorship throughout the placement. The Junior Analyst will learn about the priorities of a variety of GNB departments, including the inner workings of government decision-making across various sectors. The responsibilities of the Junior Analyst will include participating in meetings with PAS' client departments, conducting research and jurisdictional scans, supporting stakeholder engagements, preparing clear and concise summaries of their analysis, contributing to financial analysis, supporting workshops (related to Change Management, Process Improvement, Innovation & Design, etc.), and contributing to time-sensitive priorities of the PAS team. While this position will reside within PAS, the Junior Analyst will also collaborate with Executive Council Office colleagues from Corporate Strategic Performance, gaining broader corporate awareness and exposure to performance excellence across GNB. While supporting ECO, the Junior Analyst will conduct qualitative data analysis, use portfolio reporting systems, reconcile information within various systems (e.g., PowerBI, SharePoint, etc.), and develop tools to support team organization. This is a unique opportunity that could be a steppingstone into future opportunities with FTB, ECO, or any of the departments the candidate supports through their role. Furthermore, the skills development and coaching gained would be transferable to opportunities across GNB and beyond.
Qualifications: English (bilingualism is an asset). There is no specific educational background required for the Junior Analyst role.
