Packaging Sales Representative

Job description
Assists the organization in achieving maximum sales profitability, growth and market penetration for custom printed products by targeting, responding to and qualifying prospects in order to generate viable sales leads. Utilizing exceptional product and industry knowledge, communication skills, and business acumen, cultivates and manages leads to point of forwarding a defined and time-sensitive opportunity to the sales department for order completion.
Business Development (100%)
- Creates new business opportunities by pursuing and developing relationships with new accounts; researches new leads and gathers information on their business and business needs through cold calling, internet search, trade shows, potential client lists and discussions with network contacts; makes contact with appropriate personnel and arranges to meet and provide information on company products and services; follows-up with potential new client on a regular basis, including invitations to visit the manufacturing facilities, in order to secure new business and increase sales revenues;
- Identifies and qualifies new business opportunities based on prescribed guidelines and criteria; delivers qualified opportunities with defined and timely needs to Sales Team for follow-up and close;
- Maintains regular contact with prospects that are qualified but do not have an immediate interest or need; follows up by telephone and/or face to face meetings to determine status of interest/need, to keep them aware of changes in our product offerings and to keep our organization ‘top of mind’;
- Pursues new business opportunities with new clients through on-going communication with the client and increasing their awareness of the company's offerings in order to generate new business and additional revenues;
- Manages existing clients by gathering, tracking and analyzing all pertinent information regarding past and current orders, such as, but not limited to, historical data, ordering patterns and pricing strategies in order to better service client needs and accurately project sales revenues for budgeting purposes;
- Develops clear and specific written proposals/quotations for potential new clients; presents proposals to clients; overcomes client objections in order to secure the account;
- Maintains accurate and current records of all sales and prospecting activities including, but not limited to, sales calls, presentations, closed sales, and follow-up activities in order ensure all sales opportunities are maximized; provides immediate manager with an accurate report on these activities on a monthly basis;
- Networks on an on-going basis, in a professional manner, with industry counterparts in order to maintain good business relationships and remain apprised of industry trends in order to maintain a competitive status for the business; utilizes this research in the development of new, improved selling tools; attends industry-related functions including, conferences, seminars and social events; supports local community events and supports the activities of local community service groups in the areas in which the organization does business;
- Participates in trade shows including, but not limited to setting-up and managing sales booth and dismantling booth at end of trade show; recommending and implementing creative ideas to attract trade show participants to booth; attending industry trade shows on behalf of the company and reporting back to management on new products, market trends and competitive activities;
- Liaises on a regular basis with internal sales/ marketing/customer service and production staff in order to ensure orders are delivered on time and according to customer specifications;
- Prepares a variety of reports on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis in an accurate and timely manner in order to keep ownership aware of sales status and to assist management in the making of sound business decisions;
- Assists the Sales Manager in the preparation of the annual budget through the provision of sales and marketing projections in order to establish accurate sales, productivity and revenue goals
- Assists in the development of sales and marketing materials, including, but not limited to, input into quarterly newsletter for existing and potential clients, creation of new and revision of existing promotional materials in order to ensure the availability of current marketing tools for business promotional purposes;
- Maintains all related files in an accurate and updated manner in order to ensure accurate and current information is always available to authorized personnel for use in the making of sound business decisions.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 (three) years experience in Sales of Folding Carton and Printing Packaging Industry with a proven record for cultivating new business
- Must be able to travel to the United States without any issues
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license and ability to travel
- Computer literate and fully proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and internet research engines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) with well-established ability to develop and maintain good relationships in a professional manner
- Excellent negotiation, diplomatic and persuasive skills
- Excellent ability to work independently, to identify and set own priorities, and work towards their fulfillment while recognizing the need to adjust priorities, and flexibility to adapt accordingly
- Excellent analytical skills and an aptitude for figures
- Excellent ability to multi-task with good organizational skills
Compensation: $85,000 - $100,000 + Car Allowance + Lap top + Phone + Benefits + Bonus + Commission
