The School of Public Safety is looking to build a pool of applicants to fill vacancies as they arise, succession plan, and expand our current part-time faculty team. Having fresh ideas and diverse experience is essential to ensuring our programs continue to be vibrant and meet industry needs
We require a variety of faculty in these subject areas:
- Administrative Law
- Tribunal Practice & Procedure
- Advocacy
- Alternative Dispute Resolution
- Computer Applications (MS Office, law firm, and court support software applications)
- Wills & Estates
- Civil Procedure
- Business Law
A part-time Professor at Fanshawe College is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment for students. Successful candidates will teach courses in the Law Programs (Paralegal, Court Support Services and Law Clerk) in the School of Public Safety, will be required to perform work within Ontario and must be available to work on campus, as required
Qualifications GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS - Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Excellent communicator
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
- Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required
- Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred
- Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS - Post-secondary 4-year degree
- University Law Program, Paralegal Program or Law Clerk Program graduate
- Minimum 5 years’ recent, relevant experience
- Bachelor of Education or Master’s of Education an asset
- If applicant is a Lawyer or Paralegal, membership in good standing with Law Society of Canada is required (must provide LSO number)
