Working Title: Food Service Supervisor

Important Information: Previous cooking and management experience in the food service industry is required. Cash handling experience is asset. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel & Word). Vulnerable Sector Check is required.

Job Summary
How will you make an impact:
You will be responsible for the supervision and training of kitchen staff, in addition to the production, quality assurance, and profitability of all menu items.
As a Cook Supervisor you will:
- Ensure weekly food orders are placed
- Accurately count and record inventory monthly or as Operations Manager assigns
- Cook the core menu, marketing specials and any other menus that fit into the operation and serving to the customers
- Ensure positive client relationships and satisfaction
- Cashing Handling and Reporting – to ring customer though the register, cash floats to be reconciled daily, Bank Deposits made daily, sales/cash reports are completed daily including cash reports and cash register reports
- Ensure the unit has strict compliance with the Compass Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health ad Safety Act and WHMIS regulations
- Ensure food ingredients are stored in their designated area and rotated in the proper manner
- Recommend and implement preparation to reduce costs and supervise all kitchen personnel to ensure correct methodologies are followed
About you:
- Previous cooking experience and strong supervisory skills, capable of motivating, leading and developing associates
- Sound knowledge of financial management including the ability to control food and labour costs
- You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
