Job description
Our client is a leading supplier to multiple industries and is looking to add a Purchasing Manager.
Guelph ( In-office AND requires 30% travel across plants in Ontario )
Negotiable based on experience
Reporting into the Director of Strategic Sourcing, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for leading the organization in the Procurement of goods and services managing five plants. You will be overseeing the multiple plants and ensuring the Buyers are meeting their deliverables. You will be travelling to the multiple sites on an ongoing basis. As the Procurement Manager you will be working closely with the operations and supply chain team. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for managing relationships with local and global suppliers and identifying opportunities of cost savings. There will be 5 direct reports in this position, therefore you must have experience leading a team.
The ideal candidate must have 7+ years of purchasing experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You must have strong leadership skills and experience managing people. You must have experience working in a high paced manufacturing environment and managing multiple sites. You must be a leader with the confidence, high attention to detail and the proven ability to lead the Procurement function. The key to success in this role will be purchasing professional that’s pro-active and considers themselves to be a doer.
