About The Position
As a Field Coordinator (Part-Time contract position), you will assist Product Care in the implementation, promotion and management of the Nova Scotia Stewardship Programs, including recruitment, administration and operations.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
Program Management & Operation Support
- Maintaining and enhancing the collection network
- Supporting the collection site recruitment process
- Visiting and inspecting collection sites
- Providing training to collection site staff and responding to questions and issues from collection site operators
- Program communications and promotional initiatives including attending tradeshows and conferences to promote programs
- Administrative tasks such as registration, license, and permit applications etc.
- Fulfilling program plan commitments and other initiatives as agreed upon by PCA management that would enhance the programs
Stakeholder Relationship Management
- Acting as the initial point of contact for Product Care in Nova Scotia
- Interacting with municipal and provincial representatives and regulators
- Interacting with service providers
- Managing stakeholder relations and communications with retailers, consumers, and others
- Visiting and inspecting collection sites
- Providing training to collection site staff and responding to questions and issues from collection site operators
- Attending meetings, conferences, and trade shows as required
Role Expectations
- The time commitment will vary from month to month, depending on the needs of the programs. (Typically averages 10-15 hours per week)
- Requires travel within Nova Scotia. Vehicle access and a valid driver’s license is a requirement.
What You Bring
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and qualifications:
- Proficient in MS Office software.
- Clear and concise English language abilities, both written and verbal.
- Effective communications skills, with the ability to listen, persuade and collaboratively give feedback.
- Takes initiative, strong work ethic, good problem-solving skills, can execute and gets things done.
- Ability to communicate reliably in a remote work environment with your own home office, internet, phone, and fax.
- Knowledge of recycling programs is an added asset.
What We Offer
- This is a contract position at a negotiated hourly rate. The hourly rate will include office and administrative expenses, including the use of home office, internet, phone and fax, and any worker compensation costs (or similar), except for applicable HST, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Mileage will be reimbursed at Product Care’s prescribed rate. PCA will reimburse for the costs associated with pre-approved car rental, air travel and accommodations.
