Salary: $17.00/hour
Hours per week: 36.25
Placement Duration: May – August 2024
Department : Post-Secondary Education, Training and Labour (PETL) - New Brunswick Public Library Service
Placement Description : This experiential learning opportunity is designed to offer direct experience with inclusion issues and initiatives in a public library setting. Students can gain professional experience within the library sector by analyzing the needs of underserved communities, making recommendations, and designing tools to help library staff better serve those with complex needs. Students will work directly with NBPLS staff to gain direct experience in managing a library system and learn how library services are offered to the public. There will be an opportunity to work directly with the public to understand library work better and needs in an urban environment.
Qualifications:

• Language requirement: Bilingual preferred
• You have completed some post-secondary courses, and have a background in social work,

sociology, education, or psychology

Skills/Highlights :

• Knowledgeable in sociology, education, or psychology at a post-secondary level.
