Our client, a thriving global enterprise with expanding operations across North America, South America, and Europe, is seeking a dynamic Director, Operations to spearhead the secure execution of activities and uphold the consistency and quality of products at their primary production facility in Bradford, ON. Renowned for their vertical integration, they maintain control over the entire product lifecycle, demonstrating an unwavering passion for customer satisfaction. As the Director, Operations, you will have/be…
- Responsible for day-to-day execution and long-term planning of manufacturing, sanitation, packaging, warehousing, and maintenance of the facility
- Provide support to those supporting the operations, having accountability for safety, quality, cost, and delivery of the products
- Actively participate in the Internal Responsibility System, including the completion of safety inspections, accident investigations, and the Joint Health and Safety Committee to ensure safe working conditions for all team members
- Responsible for identifying measures of performance and actions required to achieve organizational goals and objectives, as well as continuous improvement opportunities
- Skilled in data analysis and interpretation, including strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Establishing and maintaining excellent business relationships with key support groups including Quality Assurance, Production Planning, Health Safety & Environment, Finance, Engineering, Product Development, and Security
In the first 12 months, you will…- Work closely and partner with the Senior Director, Operations and cross-functional stakeholders in the development of strategic plans, including workforce and capacity planning.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with all external vendors and contractors.
- Be responsible for maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, including effective investigations, validation protocols, change controls, and SOP/process updates
- Partner with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure compliance with GMP practices and regulatory requirements in all domestic and international regions supplied by the facility.
- Build confidence across the operations to help leaders understand production costs and areas for improvements
- Become the “go to” person for anything related to the facility and its functions
As an experienced professional you will have…- A Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Engineering, Science or Finance
- Previous experience in a leadership role within manufacturing or in a relevant industry, including food, health care, pharmaceuticals, alcohol and beverages, etc.
- Previous experience managing sites or teams of 100+ employees and successfully coaching and mentoring leaders to grow within their own career
- Experience in a GMP environment is highly preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally
- Ability to engage and excite diverse teams to identify common goals, drive consensus, and manage conflict
- Exceptional change management skills adopting and implementing tools and programs
- Proven ability to develop and build high-performing teams and strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships
- Ability to think strategically, problem-solve and make quick decisions
- A high degree of accountability for results, striving to meet and exceed expectations, owning and learning from opportunities
Additional items you bring with you... - Demonstrated knowledge of process and system implementation, including ERP systems
- Working knowledge of planning and forecasting systems is an asset
- Experience with Lean methodology or other continuous improvement tools and working knowledge of statistical process control

The role is based out of the company’s largest manufacturing facility in Bradford, ON, and will work closely with other facility/site leaders to coordinate efforts and gain efficiency.
