Miles HR has a 3-month contract opportunity for a talented and motivated Event Coordinator for an organization located in North Vancouver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all aspects of events and a conference. Key Responsibilities:
Communications:
- Coordinate and organize events, conferences, webinars, and promotional activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and ensure consistent messaging.
- Monitor media coverage and compile reports on communication effectiveness.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, partners, and stakeholders.
- Assist in crisis communication and manage issues that may arise.
Events and Conferences: - Support all aspects of all events and annual conference including registration, prepare sponsor and speaker agreements, prepare and distribute materials
- Prepare conference materials for all attendees, arrange sponsor recognition, set up and distribute attendee feedback surveys, prepare and execute all follow up
- Coordinate administrative aspects of trade show including exhibitor package, processing applications, assign booths, prepare show materials and documents
- Work with communications team to update webpages and develop/schedule marketing emails for events
- Attend events and annual conference; be the go-to person for attendee and/or exhibitor questions and inquiries
- Other duties as required
Qualifications: - Minimum 3 years recent experience in an Event Planning and Conference coordination role
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
- Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related role
- Experience with website management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in social media management and content creation
- Proven experience with content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms
- Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of design and multimedia software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
- Experience in crisis communication is an asset
