Job description

This is a contract position for a Solution Architect - CRM for our public sector client.
Work location: North York
Duration: Twelve Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 2-3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of complex and scalable cloud-based solutions that meet business requirements and align with enterprise architecture standards

Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural principles

Possess deep expertise in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and stay updated with the latest services and features to leverage them effectively in solution designs

Oversee the implementation of cloud-based solutions, working closely with development teams to ensure successful delivery according to architectural blueprints

Identify opportunities for performance optimization and scalability enhancements within cloud architectures, and implement appropriate solutions to address them

Ensure that cloud solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements, implementing appropriate security controls and monitoring mechanisms

Optimize cloud infrastructure costs by designing efficient and cost-effective solutions, leveraging features such as auto-scaling, reserved instances, and cost management tools

Create and maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design documents, and best practices guides, to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among teams

Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including business leaders, development teams, operations teams, and ITS to gather requirements, provide updates, and address concerns related to architecture design and implementation

Evaluate and select third-party tools and services to augment cloud solutions, and manage relationships with cloud service providers and technology vendors to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical requirements

Identify and mitigate risks associated with cloud-based solutions, including data privacy concerns, vendor lock-in, and potential service disruptions, through proactive risk assessment and mitigation strategies

Work with CRM applications, web applications, operating systems, environments, database technologies, programming languages and communication protocols

Define the interactions between application packages, databases and middleware systems

Experience in the use of data and process modelling methodologies, techniques and tools, including a working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions, and data dictionaries

Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills

Support troubleshoot complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure and architecture, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions

Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to define project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, and ensure that architecture design activities are aligned with project goals and objectives

Mentor junior architects and developers, providing guidance on architectural concepts, design patterns, and best practices in cloud computing

Qualifications
- Extensive experience in planning, creating, and implementing enterprise-level architectures; architectural patterns, and best practices to build scalable, maintainable, and robust solutions
- Proficient in integrating and utilizing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions into the existing architecture. Knowledge of multi-tenancy, cloud service models, and API integrations is necessary
- Expertise in designing scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures, employing principles such as microservices, serverless computing, and containerization
- Experience in developing, implementing and managing CRM solutions in a large and distributed environment, monitor the whole system, understand all interactions between components on a given level of abstraction, as well as to define limitations and requirements for source code
- Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), version control systems (e.g., Git), and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)
- Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, load balancing, and firewall configurations in cloud environments
- Proven experience in Microsoft Azure services; designing, deploying, and managing Azure cloud infrastructure, including Azure Active Directory and Identity models such as B2C and B2B
