Job description
Wildwood is looking for drill assistants to join our team. Wildwood specializes in RC drilling for placer gold in the Yukon. Wildwood does a mix of Heli drilling and ground-based drilling out of small remote wall tent camps in the Yukon.

Schedule:
Seasonal, May to October, 28 days on, 4 days off. Potential off-season Shop work and prep during the winter and spring months. The season is fast-paced, and the season is already booked up. It is expected for the employees to stay up in the Yukon for the duration of the drilling season.
Responsibilities:
- Assist driller with operations according to project specifications.
- Assisting the Driller in the safe operation and daily maintenance of all equipment and machinery
- Assist with the slinging of the drill and equipment via helicopter.
- Safe and correct preparation of rods and casing within a small drill timeframe to ensure that drilling remains at a consistent pace.
- Prepare, Load supplies and tooling for the job.
- Participate in daily safety meetings,
- Troubleshoot and repair drilling equipment as required.
- Operating of a chainsaw to clear drill sites of foliage where needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to complete drilling projects efficiently.
- Duties consist of but not limited to, correct daily pre-start and shutdown of equipment, fuel monitoring, and safe connection of all hydraulic hoses/fittings.
- Operating the cyclone and collecting the samples when not working on the drill
- Assist in maintaining camp equipment when necessary.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and effective drill camp.
- May be required to contribute to camp set up, firewood, water runs as instructed by the driller.
Experience and Requirements:
- Knowledge or experience with air drilling is considered an asset. Willing to train the right person.
- Motivated to learn and try new things.
- Chainsaw experience is considered an asset.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR card
- Valid driver’s license.
- Good physical capacity and endurance.
- Comfortable and motivated in a productivity environment.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Able to live in a remote wall tent camp in close quarters with the crew for long periods at a time.
- Employees will be required to provide CSA boots, rain gear, appropriate seasonal gear, sleeping bag, pillow.
