Job Type: Full time

Salary: Starting at $85,000 to $100,000 per year – commensurate with experience, with excellent benefits

At the CCTS, our mandate is to review and resolve telecommunications and television complaints after interaction between the customer and their service provider has failed to produce a satisfactory outcome. The CCTS provides a free and impartial service to customers across Canada.

Your Role:

The Manager, Communications is responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and maintaining all aspects of the CCTS’ communications strategy.

Your Responsibilities:

Oversee the work conducted by the Communications Coordinator and the Senior Advisor, Communications providing leadership, feedback, coaching and mentorship to support a high level of engagement and satisfaction and to promote continuous learning.

Develop and manage communications plans for various internal and external communications initiatives, which includes producing and/or overseeing the production of bilingual communications materials that form part of the plan, such as but not limited to media releases, media lines, publications, articles, website content, newsletters, social media content, infographics.

Project planning and management of the CCTS Annual Report, Mid-Year Report and other public reporting and communications initiatives such as informational videos and newsletters.

Engage with and lead media relations efforts.

Oversee and assist with creating content for website and social media channels.

Develop and launch activities to increase public awareness about the CCTS’ services, including reporting on key performance indicators of these activities and providing recommendations to senior management for future public awareness activities.

Write, edit, or oversee creation of compelling communications documents and content for various audiences (internal, external stakeholders, public) in collaboration with subject matter experts to support communications objectives.

Effectively manage and oversee the work conducted by communications consultants and vendors.

Support the Director, Stakeholder Affairs and Communications in developing and monitoring key performance indicators related to communications strategies to measure results, share success metrics, and establish mechanisms to ensure ongoing feedback.

You should apply if:

You have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a communications role, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory/management role

You have relevant post-secondary education, such as a B.A. in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or English

You are fluent in English and French, with excellent written and oral communications skills, and are able to convey complex information clearly and directly

You have strong project management experience, working cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts

You have previous experience interacting and conversing with media in both official languages

You have previous experience in management of social media

You have very strong interest and ability to seek out new technology / production methods to support the achievement of the communications strategy

You can easily produce communications materials using programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and have a strong general understanding in MS Office, including Outlook.

If you have knowledge of the telecommunications and/or broadcasting industry, in particular customer complaints, that would be an asset, but it is not necessary for success in this role.
