Heavy Equipment Fuel & Lube Technician

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Comply with all safety standards
• Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Fuel and grease all equipment daily
• Diagnose and repair company assets, maintain repair order documentation and assist other maintenance personnel when required
• Document repair operations and time tracking in accordance with company policies
• Request parts required as necessary
• Ensure service trucks are kept clean, organized, and maintained properly and ready for use at all times
• Immediately report any safety violations and correct unsafe acts or conditions
• Perform technical inspections and document findings
• Perform Preventive Maintenance operations when required
• Oil and filter changes
• Change air filters and cabin air filters

Qualifications: 

• Heavy equipment maintenance experience
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
• Thorough knowledge of applicable safety practices and procedures
• Strong communication skills to coordinate work flow with crew, foreman and superintendent
• Valid Class 3 operators license with air brakes (candidate to provide current abstract)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work in the Ft McMurray area and live in remote camps, working a rotational schedule
• Oil Sands Safety Association (OSSA) Regional Orientation / OSSA Basic Safety Orientation (BSO) or Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
• Must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned
• Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
