Position Description

As a Landscape Designer at KM Civil, you will play a pivotal role in translating concepts into reality. Working collaboratively with our Landscape Architecture, Urban Forestry and Civil Engineering teams, you will contribute to the creation of functional, aesthetically pleasing, and environmentally sustainable designs.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize AutoCAD to create detailed drawings and specifications that align with project requirements and standards.
• Ensure compliance with project design specifications established by both municipal guidelines and client expectations.
• Collaborate seamlessly with various disciplines to coordinate and integrate landscape designs.
• Develop engaging design presentations that effectively communicate concepts to stakeholders.
• Provide accurate cost estimates and generate construction details.
• Conduct site inspections and construction reviews to ensure the integrity and quality of the landscape construction.
• Liaise and foster effective communication with clients, contractors, and relevant government approval agencies throughout the project lifecycle
• Uphold a commitment to meeting all project deadlines and timelines. Respond to clients in a timely, respectful, and collaborative manner.
• Work collaboratively with internal team members and external professionals to deliver high-quality production and exceptional client service.
• Adhere to Krahn Group design standards and criteria.
• Evaluate completed projects through post-project reviews to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations based on findings.
• Flexibly handle additional responsibilities as required, contributing to the overall success of the team and project outcomes.

 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required

• Solid knowledge of landscape design basics.
• Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office and Adobe Suite.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in using CAD software.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Self-starter, team player and problem solver.
• Positive can-do attitude.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

 

Experience, Training, Certification and Education

• Degree or Diploma in Landscape Architecture or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in landscape design within Canada in a professional consulting office.
• A valid driver's license is required.
