This position is responsible for the provision of assessment, screening and brief intervention with individuals and families seeking outpatient mental health and addiction services. The position is situated in a collaborative, team-based environment that requires strong organizational and time-management skills and the ability to cope effectively with stress, change and diversity. Duties will include screening, assessment, counseling, consultation and the provision of relevant mental health and addiction education to the public and other service providers Primary Responsabilities:

This may include individual and/or group counseling modalities.

Experience

TRAINING, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor of Social Work/Bachelor of Indian Social Work from an accredited University that includes education aimed at theories of counseling and communication skills.

Experience: A minimum of one year experience providing clinical services to children, youth and families. Experience with youth involved with the criminal justice system is preferred. Other: Current or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers Knowledge of relevant provisions of the Mental Health Services Act, Youth Criminal Justice Act, Child and Family Services Act and the Criminal Code of Canada.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: - Strong clinical skills and theoretical knowledge with respect to the assessment, treatment, and management of youths with clinically significant impairments in cognition, mood and behavior. - Ability to integrate these theoretical concepts into practice by utilizing evidence-based models of therapeutic interventions appropriate to the treatment of mental health and family functioning. This includes clinical assessment and case management skills as well as treatment strategies (individual, group and family therapy) to be used with children, youth, adults and their families.

-Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. -Ability to work independently as required. -Strong interpersonal skills.

- Strong case management and organizational skills. -Ability to communicate clearly through written, electronic (e.g. Telehealth), and verbal medium. -Computer skills.

-Knowledge of community outpatient and inpatient service delivery systems. -Knowledge of cross-cultural issues and cultural sensitivity.

Shifts (days, evenings, nights) including actual hours, date of commencement and temporary end dates are for informational purpose only and may be subject to change. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) requires a criminal record check (CRC) from every potential SHA team member. The CRC must be dated within the past six (6) months and be satisfactory to the SHA.

A vulnerable sector check (VSC) is required for individuals providing patient/resident/client care to vulnerable persons. Internal candidates may be required to provide a CRC and/or VSC during the recruitment and selection process. We work together to improve our health and well-being.
