Position: Program Manager
Location: YMCA Camp Queen Elizabeth, Beausoleil Island
Start Date: May 1, 2024
End Date: August 29, 2024
Salary: $550-575/week based on experience

In this role, you will:
• Ensure adequate and engaged supervision of campers
• Proactively manage emotional and physical risk for campers and staff members
• Respond quickly and effectively to accidents and incidents
• Provide leadership to ensure that all programming delivered at camp reflects YMCA core values and that programs are fun, creative, safe, challenging, and foster a connection to the CQE community and the natural world
• Ensure that campers have opportunities to build skills and learn new things at camp
• Support and coaches program team members and counsellors to develop their own creative programming and teaching skills
• Adhere to internal policies and procedures regarding lifeguarding, waterfront, and boating activities
• Adhere to National Lifeguard standards for lifeguarding
• Works collaboratively with other area managers to ensure a seamless delivery of service
• Foster positive and respectful relationships within the camp community
• Give and receive feedback in an open, positive, and constructive manner
• Offer ongoing coaching and feedback to staff members at staff meetings and through one-on-one conversations

Education and Skills Qualifications:
• Holds current Standard First Aid and CPR C certificate
• Holds current National Lifeguard certificate
• Holds current G license (preferred)
• Holds a clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Position Screening
• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children and youth in an outdoor or recreational setting is an asset
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
