As a Project Manager reporting to the Manager of Product Definition, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of projects and coordinating internal resources and vendors to deliver results that exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop project scopes and objectives, leading project planning sessions.
- Secure resource availability and allocation for project needs.
- Develop detailed project plans with critical paths and milestones.
- Submit project deliverables, ensuring adherence to applicable standards.
- Prepare status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
- Establish effective project communication plans and ensure their execution.
- Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
- Measure project performance using systems, tools, and techniques.
- Report and escalate to management as needed.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Conduct post-project evaluation, identifying successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Able to complete projects in a timely manner.
- Ability to lead project teams of various sizes and see them through to completion.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capacity to manage high-stress situations.
- Ability to multi-task and manage various project elements simultaneously.
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience:
- Strong understanding of formal project management methodologies.
- Proven 5 years of experience in project management within the engineering industry, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
