Industrial Cleaner
Scotian Gold Cooperative Limited is currently looking for an Industrial Cleaner for their apple packing facility. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the successful applicant will:
- Clean and sanitize industrial processing equipment and materials using a combination of manual cleaning methods as well as other cleaning equipment such as hoses, pressure washers, compressed air, scrubbers, etc.
- Clean, dust and empty garbage bins at established frequencies.
- Perform post-sanitation inspections.
- Complete required sanitation documentation.
- Maintain the condition, quantity, quality and usability of all materials and equipment and report any deficiencies.
- Be aware of hazards and take appropriate precautions when working around equipment.
- Attend required sanitation and safety training.
- Complete general equipment inspections and inform maintenance and/or Quality Manager of needed repairs.
- Perform all tasks and actions safely and according to quality standards (HACCP).
- Perform all other related duties as requested.
Physical demands:
- Bending, crouching, kneeling
- Combination of walking, standing, sitting
- Able to use industrial cleaning products including various degreasers and sanitizers
- Able to lift up to 45lbs and use required tools/equipment
- Ability to work at heights and in small spaces
- Able to work in hot, cold and wet environments

- Basic understanding of equipment including compressed air, pressure washer and cleaning chemicals
- Basic understanding of sanitation principals in a food plant considered an asset
- Knowledge of GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) and SSOP's (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures)
Shift : Monday to Friday 4:15 pm to 2:15 am
Wage : $18.38 per hour (increase to $18.98 in April)
