About the Role: Our Ideal Candidate is professional, with keen attention to detail and is comfortable asking the right questions to help support efficient business processes. You excel at developing relationships with managers and employees and have excelled in a fast-paced HR department.
Reporting to the Lead Business Partner, People & Culture, the Coordinator provides administrative support for various people processes, programs and projects supporting our award-winning Global News teams in the West.
This role is vital to supporting Corus people, enhancing our culture of inclusion and in creating a great place to work!
You will contribute by: - Providing administrative support on a wide range of HR activities and transactions; handling various incoming queries and administration from employees and managers.
- Assisting in processes related to Hiring, Leaves of Absence, Disability Management and People administration such as drafting offer letters, employment verification letters, processing job changes and advising employees and managers on policies and processes.
- Preparing various employee-related reports, calculations and associated documentation based on relevant employment legislation, collective agreements and Corus policies.
- Utilizing effective communication skills to provide proactive support for multiple markets across Western Canada.
- Working with People & Culture team members on various projects such as, but not limited to, recruitment support, policy & process implementation and improvement, and other functional initiatives/programs as they arise.
Skills and experience you bring: - An understanding of Human Resources best practices and Canadian employment legislation (provincial and federal) in order to provide sound administrative support. (Exposure to collective agreements an asset.)
- Post-secondary education in the field of Human Resources.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant Human Resources experience, which may be through a combination of fulltime work and HR internships.
- Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office, DocuSign, HRIS and ability to compile statistical information.
- Positive and collaborative team member with strong communication (both verbal and written) required.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Excellent planning, prioritization and attention to details to ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
- Commitment to discretion and maintaining confidentiality when dealing with sensitive and personal information.
- Professional, friendly manner and exceptional customer service skills.
