Job description
Join our growing Earth Moving Technology team at our brand new branch in Abbotsford! This position will oversee the Earth Moving Technology Service operations of the Abbotsford branch through effective supervision and direction of the shop and field service technicians. The Service Supervisor will determine methods and courses of action through efficient and effective planning, scheduling and performance management to ensure that exemplary customer service is delivered to EMT customers in the province of British Columbia.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support shop and field service technicians and provide team leadership and direction to sustain employee engagement
- Manage and oversee the daily scheduling of shop and field service technicians to ensure that the workforce is adequately assigned to meet customer expectations
- Serve as front line customer contact for shop and field service requests, follow-up and issues
- Assist customers, shop and field service technicians with technical issues in person, via phone or email. Will partner with Technical Support as required
- Prepare shop and field service quotes for customers as required
- Build customer relationships and resolve issues directly or escalate to Service Manager as required
- Open work orders as required, review, approve and enter service reports, time sheets, work orders and parts requisitions
- Monitor, review and maximize efforts to ensure appropriate levels of WIP on a daily basis and maintain timely closing/invoicing of all EMT shop and field service jobs
- Partner with the warranty department for proper and timely claim submissions
- Communicate and maintain all safety rules and procedures for technicians working at the Abbotsford shop as well as in the field at customer's sites
- Liaise with the parts department regarding parts ordering and availability to ensure timely completion of jobs
- Visit techs in the field to ensure highest quality and safety on the jobs is achieved
- Perform truck inspections to ensure fleet is both safe and clean
- Perform regular shop inspections to ensure safety rules are being followed and premises kept clean and organized
- Maintain a good work environment and resolve personnel conflicts as they arise
Competencies
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a team lead or equivalent supervisory position in the Heavy Equipment Industry.
- Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate or equivalent considered an asset.
- Previous experience managing and scheduling field service technicians is preferred.
- Expertise with analyzing and reading schematics.
- Ability to work within Excel and create reports for analysis.
- Strong computer and administrative skills.
- Proven organizational and project planning skills.
