Senior Network Manager

Job description

Summary:

The ATS Corporate IT department is responsible for the delivery of critical enterprise-wide IT systems and services. As the Senior Network Manager, the incumbent is responsible for managing the existing networking team while also providing day-to-day operations of data and voice networks to ensure the ongoing availability, reliability and security of the ATS information assets in a cost-effective manner.

What you will do:

The scope of the role encompasses both voice and data networks and all associated responsibilities including:

• Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a dynamic network team, providing guidance, coaching, and fostering a collaborative and innovative team culture. Mentor, manage and motivate a high-performing team of professionals and set clear priorities to achieve department goals and KPIs.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning and execution of network projects, ensuring alignment with business goals, timely delivery, and effective resource utilization.
• Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key technology vendors, including Palo Alto, Cisco, Zscaler, and cloud networking solution providers, ensuring effective collaboration during M&A processes.
• M&A Integration: Lead the technical aspects of network integration during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring a smooth transition and alignment with organizational objectives.
• Technical Leadership: Provide deep technical expertise in Palo Alto, Cisco, Zscaler, and cloud networking solutions, ensuring the development and maintenance of a secure and efficient network infrastructure. 
• Security and Compliance: Enforce security policies and ensure compliance with industry regulations, especially during M&A processes.
• Cloud Networking Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for integrating and optimizing cloud networking solutions within the organization, with a specific focus on M&A scenarios.
• M&A Technical Due Diligence: Lead the technical due diligence process during M&A activities, assessing network infrastructure and identifying integration opportunities and challenges.
• Project Oversight: Oversee the implementation of cloud networking projects, ensuring alignment with M&A objectives and efficient integration.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in cloud networking architectures and processes, implementing best practices for performance optimization in M&A environments.
• Incident Response: Oversee the network team's response to incidents, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues in a timely manner. 
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and asset inventories. Generate regular reports on network performance, security, and compliance.
• Network Maintenance and Support: Ensure the stable operation of the company's network infrastructure. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner. Monitor network performance and implement proactive measures to maintain optimal performance. Provide technical support to resolve network-related problems.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices 
• Maintain a high level of knowledge and awareness of advancements in networks 
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct or corporate policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

What you will need:

Education:

• Must have a Computer Science/Information Science Bachelor or graduate degree and 10 or more years’ experience in network administration.
Accreditations: 
• Cisco CCNP, CCNA
• ITIL

Experience:

• Knowledge and experience, managing, and supporting networking hardware, and protocols including enterprise-level wireless networks, TCP/IP, VLANs, virtual private networks, and copper and fiber optic cabling
• Familiarity with VOIP phone systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Requires a strong technical IT background (10+ years’ experience) with broad experience across a wide range of technologies, Networks, Telecoms, Network Security, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Cloud and M&A.
• Have a minimum of 10 years strong experience in Telecoms Management and Global Vendor Management.
• Demonstrate broad experience working with various Telecoms, Network and Security technologies.
• Strong organizational and planning skills and experience in establishing process and procedure, analyzing, and developing process improvements.
• Strong knowledge of the management and architecture of various network vendor solutions, particularly Cisco. This should include wired, wireless, WAN solutions along with various Security products and protocols for platforms such as ASA, FMC, Palo Alto, AnyConnect, Zscaler.
• Must have proven experience around the deployment and management of SDWAN solutions, such as Cisco, along with an intrinsic knowledge and understanding of the benefits of the technology to the business.
• Have extensive experience in various management and monitoring tools and platforms such as SolarWinds, etc.
• Be experienced in managing Telephony and Video Conferencing systems within a context, such as Microsoft Teams.
• Soft skills include relationship and team building, conflict resolution, mentoring, and ability to communicate effectively to other teams, peers, and other organizations.
• Requires strong problem-solving skills, good judgment, and risk management to mitigate business risk.
• Required to work with customers on specific targeted objectives.
