Job description

Our client, a leader in the education industry, is looking for 2 Project Managers to oversee projects that will likely last between 18 months and 2 years.

Project Manager 1 will oversee a series of Academic projects including IT Systems and Integration and Curriculum Lifecycle Management implementation.

Project Manager 2 will oversee a project to conduct iterative process review and improvement work for the institution’s payroll systems.

Advantages

Responsibilities
OB SUMMARY FOR PROJECT MANAGER 1 --Academic Projects:

Reporting to the Manager - IT Project Management Office and working closely with the Portfolio Manager - Academic, this role will lead two projects within the overall IT project portfolio:

1.1 Canadian College of Technology & Trades (CCTT) Partnership – IT Systems and Infrastructure Integration (1/2 FTE):

A project to integrate key recruitment and admissions systems has recently been completed for a Nov. 6th, 2023, start of term. In order to better streamline and integrate our overall systems and infrastructure, an additional project has recently been scoped and approved for delivery.

1.2. Curriculum Lifecycle Management Tool (CLMT) implementation (1/2 FTE):
This project will implement a Curriculum Lifecycle Management Tool to achieve consistency, clarity and governance in the development, implementation, and maintenance of our curriculum in support of all stakeholders.

DUTIES:

Some of the Key Accountabilities include:
• Develop and maintain project schedules for the two projects, assign tasks to project team members, and ensure that work is completed on schedule;

• Document and manage project risks in collaboration with the project team and sponsors;

• Maintain standard project artifacts such as project schedule, RAID logs, etc.;

• Manage project change order processes with the project sponsors, project steering committees, and the Project Portfolio Management Office;

• Work with project sponsors and the Project Portfolio Management Office to identify and clear any roadblocks to project success;

• Provide regular reporting on progress to project sponsors, the project steering committee, and the IT Project Portfolio Management Office.

Who we are looking for:
The successful incumbent should have the following knowledge and experience:
• 7+ years of experience leading complex IT systems implementation projects, ideally in the Higher Education sector.

• Knowledge of common academic systems and processes would be considered a key asset in this role.

• Project Management Professional certification, or equivalent.

• A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with executive audiences and ensure that decisions are undertaken in a timely fashion.

Duration:
This role may continue up to 2 years.
