Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
· Early Childhood Education Diploma or related diploma/degree.
· Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and families.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral.
· Flexibility, relationship building and problem-solving skills.
· Transportation to EarlyON Centres.
· Current Standard First Aid/CPR[C].
· A clear and satisfactory Criminal Record Check inclusive of the vulnerable sector search (CRC VSS) issued for the YMCA of Niagara.

NATURE & SCOPE
EarlyON Child and Family Centres are places where parents, caregivers and children build strong relationships with each other and connect with other families and EarlyON professionals. We offer a variety of programs and services that meet the unique needs of children and families in an inclusive environment. We provide resources and workshops with up-to-date information for all stages of your family life, from preconception and prenatal care, to nutrition, toilet training, toddler curiosity, and early school experiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Deliver the EarlyON Core Services and programming in alignment with pedagogical approach presented in How Does Learning Happen? (Ministry of Education).
· Participate with the children, caregivers, and families in a positive and supportive manner.
· Refer families to appropriate community services and resources based on their needs.
· Facilitate both child and parent/caregiver education workshops.
· Plan and facilitate both indoor and outdoor workshops for families
· Maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating physical environment within the centre, embracing diversity and supporting the inclusion of all individuals.
· Maintain positive relationships with community partners and other EarlyON service providers based on professionalism, cooperation and respect.
· Contribute to centre-based documentation of participant learning and inquiry.
· Meet all YMCA standards and reinforce YMCA policies within centre.
· Participate in training and adhere to the YMCA Child Protection Policies and Procedures as established by the YMCA of Niagara.
· Other duties as required.

Work location will include YMCA of Niagara EarlyON Centres located throughout St. Catharines and Thorold
